Hey there. Matt here.

I help places, organizations and executives figure things out.

I work with people who want to make their community more competitive, their operations more strategic and their leadership more impactful.

“Matt’s greatest gift is his thoughtfulness. When I think about the small handful of folks at the core of transforming our organization, I think of Matt. He recognized our ambition as leaders that expected better for San Antonio, and he matches that ambition and energy at every turn.”

— Randy Smith, CEO, Weston Urban (Chair, Executive Committee, Greater:SATX)

Better places.

We’ll work together to assemble a group of partners from your community, study the issues, and develop creative approaches to make the place better. Want to enhance the appeal of your community and its downtown to new residents? Attract and retain young workers? Elevate the competitiveness of your region for new investment? We’ll craft a plan to get it done, informed by what’s worked - and what hasn’t worked - in other places.

Better organizations.

Imagine a part-time Director of Strategy to help ensure that staff and board members remain proactive and passionate in their daily efforts to fulfill the organization’s mission. Someone that can work with you, your staff and your board to ensure that the organization treats strategic planning as a cultural necessity and not simply a periodic event. That’s me. Together, we’ll design effective approaches to strategic planning that empower your team and your board to think critically and creatively about the organization’s future.

Better leaders.

An on-call adviser, a second opinion or a gut check when you need it. A day-to-day resource for you, your staff or your board chair; someone with whom you can share ideas or discuss what other organizations have done. Someone that can ask you: “Have you considered this?” or candidly suggest “That might not be the best idea.” A confidant to help you navigate the various challenges that accompany your position. Or just someone to complain to at the end of the day. It’s my job to add value to that conversation.
